The Kasey Joelle Ragan Memorial Fund has been established to raise awareness of and funding for the youth who attend Louisiana Lions Camp, a place where Kasey spent her last two summers as a counselor. Lions Camp is a unique summer place for mentally and physically challenged and diabetic youth of Louisiana, where campers and counselors alike are touched by a life changing experience. The mission of the Kasey Joelle Ragan Memorial Fund is to keep her love and passion for life alive by supporting a cause that was so close to her heart!

The net proceeds of this event will be used to send local youth to Lions Camp, provide scholarships to graduating campers and to provide for the needs of hosting Lions Camp each year. The Kasey Joelle Ragan Memorial Fundraising committee encourages you to mark your calendars & join us!

The first event was held three years ago and raised over 60K (Sixty Thousand Dollars) In addition to scholarships being provided for some of the campers for the previous 2 summers, the Multi Purpose Building has been renovated and named the Kasey J Ragan Multi Purpose Building (KMPB) This is the central point of operations for the summer camp program and is one of the original buildings, which was opened for use in 1961. This was the first major renovation of the building and it is something to behold.  It honors the years of tradition of Lions Camp and has a fresh, modern look and feel.  The second project that is nearly finished is a freshening up of the Dining Hall.  The floors have been replaced, the cabinetry in the dining area has been replaced.  The walls have been painted and will be covered with enlarged photos from last summer.  It looks great!

The Ragans started another project last year to raise funds for the camp.  Their friends and owners of the San Luis Mexican Restaurant donate 10% of the First Monday Sales to camp in memory of Kasey.  The San Luis was Kasey's favorite restaurant.  Tina, Wayne and friends eat there often to support this project as well as the Natchitoches Lions Club which has their 1st Monday meetings there.

We are very grateful to Santiago and Esperanza Galvan for their ongoing support for the Louisiana Lions Camp.

Signs like this are going up in front of all of the camp buildings thanks to the San Luis donations. The lettering is engraved into 3/4 inch PVC and the signs will last for many years to come!
