Lions & ADA Camp Victory – Diabetes Camp
Session 7 – Districts LIONS (ages 11-14)
Louisiana Lions and ADA Camp Victory provide an opportunity for youth ages 6 to 14, who live with Type 1 diabetes, to learn about their disease and get to know others who face the same challenges. While many lessons are being taught, our campers have a week packed with fun and discovery. Safety, education, increased self-esteem, and respite for the family from the daily demands of diabetes are all benefits of Camp Victory. The main reason to go to diabetes camp is to have FUN, and it is most often an unforgettable adventure that makes our campers eager to return. The overall goal of the camp is to provide a safe, highly supervised, recreational experience for children with diabetes. Louisiana Lions Camp is an American Camp Association Accredited Camp and Camp Victory has a full medical staff on-site for the entirety of our diabetes sessions. Medical staff is comprised of Medical Doctors, Physicians Assistants, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Registered Pharmacist, Pharmacy and Nursing Students, Registered Dietitian and Dietetic Interns. Medical staff are volunteers, full of life and energy pouring all of their talents and love into camp week.
